Would we even need a 6320? The 4300/4400 are even cheaper, and the only real difference is 2MB cache instead of 4MB, if speed was an issue then we could overclock. Just a thought...
Oh and I'm assuming you're meaning sample server config yeah?

I'd be nasty and say that "Rig" is a bit of a giveaway as to it being a non-server machine, and suggest Hex removing his erroneous posts, but I don't think any of us need to throw more onto that particular fire. Anyway:
Sid, those deals are shit hot. I almost want to buy a machine now, rather than when I return from the States (although by then I might be able to afford a 2x Core 2 Quad Xeon rig with motherboard, given the current rate of price slippage).
If you've got a tenner burning a hole in your pocket you could even get ~30 of these - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/23880 - and make a fan case.
I will be buying one of those fish tanks you pointed out in the other thread, and some mineral oil for shits and giggles, though.

I actually considered doing something like that a couple of years ago; converting an entire case side into fans. But when I measured up it wouldnt have fit right, id have had either big gaps between the fans or a big gap at the top/bottom.
Suppose itd give me a use for the 700w of power.
 Though I suppose buying a cheap case and hacking off most the surround, leaving hdd/cd cage and mobo attachements intact, you could do whatever you want id expect.I just wasnt prepared to go that far on my case at the time;)
Il have to see how much free time I get over the summer...

I was thinking, just hot-melt glue gun the fans together, glue some plastic motherboard standoffs to the fans on the bottom (yes, fans on the bottom! A pc made of fans - on stilts!), and just sort of use the fans to hold everything together.
It might even work.

50p fans make a but load of noise, 100+ 50p fans make even more. Plan is epic fail.
End of line.

+1, you beat me to it. The machine would sound like a fucking 747. Now if you wanna spend the extra cash and buy silent fans, the plan might be halfway decent ;)

It'd sound ridiculous until you undervolted the fans to like 5v, at which point (when they're just turning) the advantage of having lots and lots of fan blade surface area would become useful.
Alternatively you could just put it near a window, hook the fans up to the 12v rail, and enjoy a computer that will in all likelihood be self sustaining.
Go make one, then maybe I'll be convinced :-P
