Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

I added Enemy Territory: Quake Wars to the list of games, has anyone else played this great new FPS yet? I might be able to finally make it to the LAN next week and I was hoping to get a few games of it :)

Granted, I've only played the demo, but I wasn't that impressed by it. It felt too much like Battlefield with too many rough edges.

As I said though, this is based off one map in the demo.

This is the same comment that many have made which is why I've not tried it. Overall I think that BF2142 and BF2 will cover all the large team games and CSS will cover the small team DM.

I bought it and enjoyed it, but soon lost interest once TF2 appeared.

Unfortunately, I don't see it getting played this LAN. As far as I know, no-one else actually owns it. :(

I downloaded the demo, and while it didn't seem bad it didn't seem that great either. As has been said many times before, it's all too similar to BF2 without really adding anything to the formula...

meh its alright i enjoy making artillery and bringing down the hammer rocket on ppls heads lol i plays like bf games but i would say quake wars encourages u to use cover with the lean but bf games are better by far in the short quake wars is like bf but with some stuff taken out and more objective gameplay added in.

Hey Moniker42 welcome! I've been wanting to play it too, but the feedback I've been hearing about it is a bit disappointing. People, myself included, still love BF despite it's failings and see no reason to stop playing it! You should try and get a game going though, could be a good lark. I'm sure people would be happy to give the demo a shot at least! Also, I'd like to point out the "Search" button at the top of the forum. It's always better to search the forums for similar threads before posting a new thread.

Just call out the position boys, I've got a warehouse full of cars, plenty of large planes and big parachutes for them, snipers who stay still for too long don't last. ;)

you do know that i missed with 50-75% of my sniper shots?

its really satisfying when youve worked out the EXACT bullet drop and are able to headshot someone from miles away....
then again, its easier to snipe on online servers (people have to stop to shoot accuratly so... more targets :D )

And the rifle seems to puff up smoke more when on a LAN game :mad:

I don't care. I officially hated you for the duration of Kubra Dam. :) I was too busy being owned by tanks to look out for snipers...

I think you're right. It's got uber sandwiched by Crysis and CoD 4 which look much more appealing. I'm still going to try it out when I get back but it's a shame that it's getting only "good" feedback rather than "awesome". :(
