Our first hardware/software related post!

*dances*

*Suddenly stops*

But it concerns my machine, so I’m not so happy actually. :?

Anyway, I just got these new bits,

- BFG 6600 GT
- 1GB Corsair XMS3200 DDR400 2-3-3-6
- 200GB Cavair WD 8M
- Icemat Siberia

Looks nice no?

But, there is a darker side. My first run in with the more "ass" side of Steam. HL2 is no longer playable. Yip that's right, I have the "Stutter" problem, which no doubt some of you have experienced. I'm currently doing my research, trying to find the cure for this nasty beastie. It's crazy! I get about the same fps when playing low detail at 1024 as I do with MAX (really!) with x4 AA and x16 AF.

I wanted to cry.

This will apparently sort the problem, but I'm at work till 11 so, can't try it yet.

Anybody had this? Any suggestions?

Sucks Blue. This a driver issue or have Valve not been keeping up on their patches to account for uber setups such as your recent upgrade?

San Andreas is acting a little wierd too. Fast streaming text and no voices.
