Starlancer. The most under-rated game ever.

"Wha?! Is that like Freelancer?" I hear you cry.

No! Well, sort of. Freelancer is complete crap compared to the game that preceded it! Starlancer had truly cool combat maneuvring with breakneck rolls and stunts, as opposed to Freelancer's uber-simple 'click the pointy thing on the bad guys to kill them' approach.

What I want to know is why nobody else loves this game as much as it deserves!?

Hoepfully someone will be playing it at the LAN too!

Cool, can someone download the demo?
http://www.microsoft.com/games/da/starlancer/home.asp

(well, either that or can we get a /special/ preview at the LAN ;)

Cool, can someone download the demo?

63% downloaded already. =P

I'm gonna make my entire "install files" folder available at the LAN, feel free to skim through it and nab any installs you see that interest you. =)

As much as I like Starlancer. I do not appreciate Freelancer being called a complete load of crap. :(

It isn't a complete load of crap.

But it is when compared to Starlancer.

I think I'll bring Freelancer along to the LAN too, so we can engage in some piratical activities!

YAR! Space piracy!

Oh, if we are playing either of the 'lancer games in teams I tax the callsign of Red (or Rogue) Leader! 8) 8-)

sad, sad, sad. Bagsy callsign Fluffy bunny! lol
There's always gotta be a 'rat with a silly fluffy sounding call sign. :-D

Does this mean you guys will be bringing joysticks?

Of course!

That's one of the reasons that Starlancer is better than Freelancer!

Another is the accents. The accents are cool, especially the Italian squadron that calls for help... "We're in reeeaaall trouble!"

Just played with Starlancer for a while and found the controls really confusing, too many buttons to remember.

Would work well if I had a joystick methinks. =P

Not sure I can be fussed with joystics. Plus it would have to be a USB one i think.
