View Full Version : Mini RC Helecopters
I'm sure you've all seen these devices advertised as fathers days gifts from the online stores and such like and dismissed them as cheap crap that would be no fun. You are wrong they are made of (lightweight) awesome and (take someones eye out) win.
Takes some time to master, I've not managed that bit yet but they are hoot for farting about with.

Plus, you can re-model them as genitalia and attack champion chess players with them!

yeah i got one at christmas - it flies a bit wonky but my cat loves (read hates) it. Fun for flying round the house - quite tempted to try flying it out the window and see if i can get it back...
There's an apache one with proper controls which I saw a few weeks ago for about £27, but I can't remember where i saw it.

I like this site for the range but not the price:

this is where I bought them (there is a shop in glasgow, I'm sure you've seen the iron mongery alien and predator before:
Red 5 (http://www.red5.co.uk/Picoo-Z-Helicopter-pr-139.html)
That is the actuall one I got, I'm probably going to get a 3 channel version before long.
I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth the £30 for this but it definately will be:
3 channel chopper (http://www.red5.co.uk/PicooZ-3-Channel-Helicopter-pr-486.html)
Edit:
I should mention that it will come to the LAN for everyone to have a shot.

The piccoz are pretty good, you can even get foward control on them once you get the hang of it by using the torq on the main rotor to drift. Used to fly it round the shop at work. Work best after about 5 mins flying as at full charge the main rotor has too much power for the tail to counter the spin.
that was pretty much what i was about to post after my lunch time session.

well got my helicopter on tuesday, crashed it into my shoe and managed to brake part of it lolol, got the new part today and had a real go at flying it
Its prity hard to fly. Atm in jst learning to to keep it hovering, tbh its a prity steep learning curve but very rewarding when u get better.
Id say if u want to try something like a helicopter and are prepared to spend the time learning to fly it gst something like the one i got ( 4 ch )
If your looking for a toy that takes little time to master and wont break when u crash it get soemthing like yegas one (2ch)
Well I'm getting the 3 channel version the end of next week. Maybe get one similar to yours for the winter.

what you up too this weekend btw?
Well, my helicopter died at the weekend, the battery no longer retains a charge :( I'm not sure how many charges that equates too but it must be under 100.
Ho hum, was fun while it lasted.
