Regular Battlefield 2 night

Last week's battlefield 2 night was pretty successful.

I've had a few requests for a regular Battlefield 2 night: Next friday seems a good enough day.
Who's all up for some BF2 action?

Meet on Friday sometime after 8pm. There was a teamspeak channel, can we post it on the open forums (is it someone's private server channel?)?

Forbidden planet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbidden_Planet) was a 50's film loosely based on Shakespeare's 'The Tempest'.

BF2 had been patched.

Dunno about the changelog, but reading the forums, people seem to be pissed at the size of the patch and releasing the patch so close to the launch of Special forces (which is also patched today).

Well I got an email from Play.com to say that my copy of Special forces is in the post :D . But did dave just say that I need to patch it already FFS :x

I considered buying it through EA downloads, it's only $20 or something, but decided to hang off until after Christmas. I'm skint, and probably going to get skinter soon.

From the sound of it, people with SF can join regular BF2 games, and have access to all the cool equipment from that game. So basically, if you want to play Special Forces in BF2, you're gonna be chuff unless you have the expansion: you're opposite number might have grapples and ziplines and other cool shit, while you are stuck comparatively weaponless.
If there's one thing EA are good at, it's marketing. Assholes. It's like when Camelot started the lottery - a once a week draw. People picked there numbers, and used them every week. then the draws went up to twice weekly. Could they bear to see their numbers turn up on the day they didn't play? Hell no. Now the fucking thing is daily, for Christ's sake. Smart, ethicly void people.

What's the next expansion of BF2 going to be? A sniper mod that gives them access to a cloaking device? A PSG-1? How about a Grunts mod that gives assault troops double the armour, or a decent secondary ability (unless I'm missing what smoke grenadse are good for...)

I totaly get your point though Sideshow nothing wroung with the game as it stand but they know if they make it somehow make it better if you pay X everyone will have to buy it so they dont get pissed on in games. They make money some people feel superior for a bit in games and we all have to shell out in the end. :cry: Bastardos :x

but regardless, the regular download from 3dgamers.com is giving me a 200kbps download speed, I started the patch pretty much when Dave posted about the slowness from EA on here and it's now at 84%. =)
