Right, the question is not clear. What I want to capture is the generation of console that you are playing. So if you own one of the new breed and all of the other you only put the one that you own in the new breed (ps3/Wii/X360) but if you own all in a generation ie ps3/wii and X360 then tick all of them but nothing from any other generation. I suspect we have have more folk with all the previous gen and none in the current gen which is what I'm trying to capture. With sub heading this would be easier As it is I might just get a mod to remove null votes.

Does someone want to reset the poll, and then leave it the fuck alone after votes are cast?

You'll note that no portables appear here. I was going to wait and do a portables later. If you must know I'm also going to do a survey for:
Screens (smaller that 17, 17-19, 20-24, 25+)
HDDs (1,2,more and under 250, 251-500, 501-750, 750+)
Input Devices (not sure how to break this down yet)
and lastly
Sound (on board, other(please say what in your post and earphones, headphones, 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, other)

Peter are you touting yourself as an alternative to the Steam Hardware survey?

no, I just think that Steam should give us access to query that database ourselves. I think it would be useful for all members, new and old to know what kind of kit appears at lans. Some might think we are all sporting kick as dual quad core, 4X systems. But the reality is we are all in the same boat. Some have kick ass, some have piss poor most just have what is necessary to play games.

Err, if you are going to pick "other/older" it would be nice if you could say what it is...

VHS consoles and Laser Disk games do not count. FS if we included them then technically the casio game watches would be a portable console.

I fail to see the relevance of this poll to that problem. I can see the point of polls on CPU and GPU to give an idea of average hardware at LANs, I don't see how it is useful for new members to know that I own a SNES...

Well, it means that I can take it from your flat next time you're at a LAN and I'm not.

Because the society is branching out into console gaming more, and it will be useful to know what people's console experiences are.
I don't really see the relevance of HDDs and screens and suchlike, though.

Surely it's only current/last major gen consoles that are gonna be making an appearance at LANs though? Or are you guys plotting a retro night?
As for HDDs, Screens, etc, I think that's just for Peter's interest/amusement, unless he wants to provide some other justification for it...

Wait, so where it says "what console do you own?" it should actually say "Please tick all consoles in the newest generation that you own" ? If so, you couldn't really have worded the poll worse...

If you can't or don't read the post then I can't help you.

All I'm trying to point out is the ambiguity of the poll and the poorly worded nature of your first post is likely to be skewing your results...

It is not skewing anything. Currently we have all consoles posted, to get what I want I take the latest gen results from a poster and ignore the rest.
