*pats his 6200*
I'll have a single 7800 eventually. =(
Although it DID say that it was going to be SLI ready..so I could catch up to that monstrosity a bit eventually.

Not really. They are only releasing a handfull of these guys for testing I've heard. They've not been given a general release yet, and if they do, I don't even want to think about the price tag. 2k maybe?
*gulp*

Just mug Chris during the LANs, no-one will suspect you because I've suggested it and they all know you're too smart to do something like that. =P

Not sure anything would truly benefit from the setup though. I think its more like.... we can do this so we will do this.

Geforce 7800 GT OC is MINE!!!! MINE! MINE!!!
thats right folks, it is true, and it feels good. Doom 3 Ultra qualtity? no problem!! and now battlefield 2 is oh so smooth, i may actualy be a threat now! few downers, i cant run quake 4 on ultra quality because it needs 512 video ram, and i have only 256 :(. ive been getting 15000+ in 3d mark 03, and im wondering if should be getting more? any tweaks i could make to this graphics card? (im mainly asking Strings here, you have a 7800 GTX right?)
Overall, compared to the X300 on-board graphic card with no video memory that i was forced to use, the 7800 is VERY boner.

Git. I'm very jealous :)
Update the drivers to the most recent (no brainer)
Get a hold of Rivatuner (http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner&menu=8) if you want to dig around with overclocking / tweaking. I would advise against it though, with a few hundred pounds worth of graphics card, it gets a lot more serious if it goes wrong! The forums are fantastic, take a good dig before you do anything with Rivatuner*
* saying that, I managed to get my 6800LE to generate 50% more 3dmark05s. Be careful though!

I have installed Rivatuner and am downloading driver 81.95, (i had 81.94), and browsed the Guru forums like mad, but this sounds silly i know: i dont know how to work Rivatuner, everyone has taken it for granted that noob's like me dont know how to work it! HELP!

I have a 7800GTX and it runs best on the newest official drivers from the Nvidia website. That is... 81.98 yep.
The stock coolers on the 7800s are exactly fantastic Ive come to realise. So dont overclock it too much without a better cooling solution.

We're all born n00bs. At the risk of sounding a bit patronising, did you google for 'rivatuner guide'? I found a decent one just a few links away.

yeah its not been too happy with my clocking efforts so far. seems that the highest i can get the clock speed is 500mhz with the memory at 1.20ghz and still be stable. but in fairness, things are working fine without the oc, im just jerking my 7800 off! going to get a fatality cos the tiny fan that came with it is noiser than an ape during sex
