Because I'll forget it given 5 mins!

Someone has made a flowchart decision tree, describing how to debug hardware problems (http://www.techdc.com/computer-repair-flowcharts). How to find the problem and solve it for PC problems. More here.

Nice. A lot of it is common sense, but it's good to get it down on paper. Enjoy.

Actually it is quite simple:

Do you need a flowchart to understand the problem -> yes -> then just sit down and and use your common sense, chances are you are already methodical and computers don't break just cause you look at them funny.

Do you need a flowchart to understand the problem -> flowchart? -> phone a friend

The flowchart gives people that have the right resources but not the confidence to traverse the problem solving, unfortunately there are some people that kinda follow a flow chart but don't really understand why it is structured the way it is and therefore fuck it up anyway. Making these things public is hazardous IMO.
