If that's how you feel imagine your reaction when you learn of my plan to get a license and 4 REAL guns..

2 Shotguns.

2 Rifles.

X Deer on hill.

1st place in a Hogmanay shoot using Shotguns last year.

3rd place this year.

Who want's some venison for dinner? >=)

Allow 1 to 2 years for delivery of deer given how long it'll take me to save up for all that stuff. =P

Actually, quite scared.

Realistically, you'll need a valid excuse to get a shotgun licence / rifle licence. That means regularly shooting targets / clays.

Oh, how handy, there's a Glasgow university club for this exact reason (http://www.gla.ac.uk/Clubs/Rifle/) :D

Actually I do shoot clays fairly regularly when I'm at Stronachullin (http://www.stronachullin.co.uk) visiting my mum / on holiday, we go just down the road to Brenfield to shoot from time to time and take part in competitive competitions there once a year.

As for the rifles, I'm not sure what reason (excuse?) I could come up with for that, possibly just "fun" or pest management on family land or something.

At the moment the gun thing is in the theoretical stages, once I actually have money I'll look into it in more detail. =P

Also, I used to be a member of that club, but dropped it when I dropped out of Uni, if I ever rejoin Glasgow Uni I'll probably rejoin the shooting club too.

Are there any other kinds of competitions other than competitive ones? :-D

I realise now that I worded that with my gloves of +2d20 Retardedness on. =(

I meant like, there's shooting clays in a mini-competition for practice with a couple of friends and there's proper competitions with prizes and lots of instructors and all that jazz, you know what I mean?

Rabbit is nice, but I prefer the 7.6KG of venison we had while I was at my mum's.

It was basically an entire haunch on the bone.

beautiful stuff..

sadly there are no deer about and i'm pretty sure if they were they would belong to someone. Lucky you, fresh Venison is about as good as game meat goes.

Try ordering from Ormsary (http://www.ormsary.com) next time you're looking to get a nice big bit of fresh meat.

Beautiful stuff. =D
