Alright chaps, as well know the next LAN is in February.. so it's time for us to get creative.

For those of you who have some experience with Photoshop, getta making some nice posters. I have a few rough ones done, so will post em up later.

Also get chatting to anyone who may be interested in coming. I may be able to get a couple of guys from ED to pop along.

Dave do you know when this re-freshers week thing is? Wondering what we have planned for it etc.

I emailed Heather (the SRC person in charge of Clubs) asking for a stall. I haven't heard back yet.

Refreshers' Week is happening 23rd- 27th January with the clubs and socs
fair on the Wednesday in Qudos - please reply if you would like a stall.

We are currently talking about an event for the Thursday of Refreshers' Week
- something which will hopefully would earn your club/soc some extra cash.
We are planning on having a Second-hand/Retro hand me downs/ bring and buy
type sale in Qudos. Each society will have a stall and can sell second hand
clothes, books, CD's ... Whatever you have lying around and you get to take
home your profits. Of course you will have to rely heavily on your members
donating unwanted Christmas presents etc, and I would recommend you have two
people on the stall at all times for security of cash and goods. This is a
simple idea and would be a great way for you guys to raise some extra cash
for your society. If you interested get back to me ASAP so I know if the
interest is enough to warrant the event.

Sweet, I'm just doing some scans of my Syndicate box, maybe could use some of it for a poster. Would need to be printed in colour though, which would be expensive. However, it would show that we are dedicated to making a good image and are prepaired to put in the time and money. Hmmmmmm.....

I know we can claim back for certain expenses from the SRC. Photocopying is one of those expenses, so it's possible to get a good run of posters in colour.

By the way, the account is opened with the bank, and we have got a grant of around £40 from the SRC this year.

Well, considering the Fair is tomorrow, and as far as I know, they only posters we have are the ones I made for the Original Freshers Fair, guess we're stuck with them.

Which is not a bad thing, just wish I had made some new ones. However, for the next LAN, we MUST have some proper poster and stuff. Getting the date for the next LAN on the front page is a start. I'm happy to use the posters DAve put up, make some ones myself too, but seriously Strings, get your ass over so we can make 'em.

Was at Mr Pixie's and Mr Doyai's flat today for a while. We got some great solid ideas down for the GUNS' posters. With at least one idea being ready for mass distribution :)

The gunsoc.org.uk is easier to remember and type.

But for some reason, I cant imagine the HL2 symbol poster without the word "snake" in it :)

for the HL2 poster the idea is to spark interest from people not normally associated with lans and maybe dont even play games right now. for this reason I think the snakebomb is better as it is more obscure and people are more likely to look it up. for everything else the gunsoc add is fine

I'm really impressed by the quality of the posters.

Do you need a hand on putting them up? Would be best to get them out early in the week, since the LAN is on Saturday.

Right. I've printed posters today and started putting them up. Stock is as follows.

Darwinia A3 B&W x3 (The green didn't work very well on the printer :( )

HL2 A3 x20

So, pop round and get spamming. The areas that have already been postered are,

Rankine Building ( A4 Darwinia )
Reading Room ( A4 Darwinia )
SRC ( 3x A3 HL2 + A4 Darwinia )
QMU ( 1x HL2 + 1x Darwinia A3 + 1x Darwinia A4 )

Put up more in these places if you can find room, I was only doing it quickly.

There's just over 2 weeks until the LAN & AGM, I think we have time for a concentrated lan postering strategy.

Does anyone have some time over the weekend to update the previous posters for the last lan? (http://guns.snakebomb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3381#3381) I think they were great as it was, just need the dates adjusted (one poster for the 4th lan is still up in the boyd orr!)

If you have hosting, you can use that, I can put things up on the website if you don't have - just email them to me.
