Well we all (should have) known this was coming as there were reports before the 5870 was released that this was on the way, the question is, where did they get the cores and would it not be more profitable to sell them as two 5870s at £300 a pop?

I was thinking that in a kind of twisted sense, if you have the cash, it represents good value for money! ....or you could get a 5850 and a wee cheap holiday somewhere and never really notice the real world gaming experience. I find it hard to see the difference between frame rates of 111FPS and 212FPS with my puny human eyes. :)

if you are running a single screen setup then you are right but it you have a simulation rig with multimonitor then this represents excellent value for money as it does not require you to also purchase a triple head adaptor from matrox and still rox the socks off anything you throw at it. Noone at lan runs a regular multimonitor setup that i'm aware of but if they did, this is a card I'd recommend.

Still more than enough attention for a film/series and web browsing.
