Yay! I got an email back from the SRC VP (Activities and Development) - Heather - it says:

I have reserved you a stall for refreshers' week fair - it is Wednesday 25th 11-3pm in Qudos

This is to confirm details for your stall(s) at Refreshers' Week.

Refreshers' Week Fair
Wednesday 25th January - 11am - 3pm, Qudos - Queen Margaret Union
This is now full and space is really tight- apologies in advance! Please
arrive after 10.30 for your stall and please clear before 4pm. The QM have
asked for no flyering within the Union (though you can put posters on the
noticeboards if they are signed by the porter/board of management) and that
students are allowed to come to your stall - no harassing the café! Please
feel free to put posters up around campus detailing that your stall will be
at the event. We will have publicity but all publicity will help!

Fundraising Fair
Thursday 26th January - 11am - 2pm, Qudos - QMU
Same as above- arrive after 10.30 but Qudos needs to be cleared by 3pm this
time! Please do not sell anything that conflicts with what the QM sells -
definitely not food, and easy on anything that can be found in the shop!
Please ensure you have two trusted people from your committee on the stall
so no money goes walkabout - the SRC/QM will not be not be liable for any
losses in money/property.

There are many other events to keep an eye out for during the week including
a QM ceilidh, quizzes, tower tours and fairs!

Note: the dates were wrong in the original email. I have corrected them

This is to confirm that I have not had enough sleep! The days are correct,
the dates are not!

Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th

Sorry!

And sorry again!

So, if anyone is free on next Wednesday and Thursday help manning the stall would be very much appreciated. Also, any ideas on what we can actually /do/ at the stall would be great.

I'm free from 11.00-13.30 on Wednesay, and all of Thursday. I'll email Heather about power as well.

Yep, count me in matey.

Can bring my laptop and get some demos running on it. Notably the crazed stunt BF2 one, couple of good source videos, the crazy Q3 video, and lots more. Perhaps shove in one or two of those speed game things.

As for what else.... grab a PS2? Gamecube? Get some simple head to head FPS joy going? :)

I'm not sure if I'll be free yet, but if I am count me in as well as a helper.

Cheers. Yes, please bring your laptop. It would be a huge help.
As for the PS2 / GC, that would be a bonus but we would need a TV. We've got power and a table for the event, and I will look out the banner and CDs to sell to new members.

Actually, does anyone have anything they want to sell on Thursday? I've got a few old games that could be worth selling to young, impressionable punters. :D

I'm not going to be able to help out anymore, I'm going to have to go to Yorkshire.

Erm, so what is going on with this? Who is going to be there, run it etc? I've got lectures and lab work to do but will hopefully be able to swing past in the afternoon.

I can come along in the morning to help with the stall, and take it away again, but I can't stay. DAaaaaavvveeee! Inform us!
