For those who have experienced setup/connection problems at previous lans, we belive we can now get everyone on a 100mb/s connection with a nice low ping.
For those that experienced poor server performance/bad load times due to Steam: The dedicated server loads hidden faster than you have ever seen and is capable of serving everything from CS1.6 to BF2 (though not the Coop mod)
For those that could not find the files needed, as of today the game server is getting a new HDD which will be preloaded with the files needed and setup with FTP access and a web page with info and game details throughout the LAN.
However, I cannot confirm that Steam will not be a gaylord so bear with us if it is.
Any suggestions speak them now or forever hold your peace.

Steal a vending machine and empty it's contents then use it as a large fridge for various cold drinks?

Sounds like molten joy and biscuits.
As you guys know I'm a CSS nut, so Im going to be talking to a guy I know from ED, in order to ascertain the best settings for the optimum performance of the CSS dedicated server.

unless you are planning on some tragic admin mod with subsquent bullet soaking plugins, no optimal settings are required.
The registry will depend on the amount of running processes on the server, together with the sv_maxrate, sys_ticrate (developer 1) and individual player rates.
If its customisation you're seeking, the map cycles, roundtime and all other settings of that nature can be found in the standard source dedicated server dir (presuming source follows the same configuration as 1.6 that is).

On a serious note, I would like to ratify the constitution sooner rather than later. Can we do this at the LAN, leading the way for an AGM later on in the year?

Well, sounds good with me, however STEAM is being a bitch at the moment to me, haven't been able to get on it so my version isn't updated, any chance I might get connection to the net to update it?
And i'm planning on buying Bf2 for this LAN, can't wait to destroy you all with my exceptional shooting skills (just as long as you stand still :P )
