Just a quick poll so I can work out whether to be excited for the lan or not...

Yes, I had counted on playing some BF2 at the lan. Hopefully most people will have the full game, and we can play some conflict or some co-op mod.

I don't play bf2 much, infact only at lans. Im curious to know if theres a nack to sniping. I played breifly last night and I swear, I shot an enemy 4 times and he didn't die. Do you have to wait for the secondary crosshair to appear to know you're on him?

Any decent guides other than the wiki? I manage to get by when playing through general fps experience, but I don't know the inns and outs.

The sniper rifles behave more 'realistically' than in CS. In CS, the AWP is basically just a railgun. In BF2 you have to hold your aim steady on a point for a second or two, and then fire. I used to think it helped lying down, but when we were playing the co-op mod, I was successfully doing Blackhawk down stuff: enemy advancing down street towards me, zoom, aim,headshot, walk backwards while reloading, zoom, aim, headshot, walk backwards while reloading, etc. This is with the M24, which I put as the best rifle. A close second is the M95 (the unlock). The other two, the semi-automatics, are utter shit. Hmmm.. maybe you were using one of them?

Only way to get better is to play. That and read the artical we are in the process of writing in the bf2 forum and on the wiki.

That and going to totalbf2.com
