Does anyone know where I could get a decent PC carry strap thingamajig for a cheap price for the next LAN? Cardboard boxes are good and all, but they just aren't working for me.

Thanks

Imo they are a bit spendy for what they are.

I tend to jst throw my tower in the boot of the car, tape some cardboard over my moniter screen then throw that in to. Finaly i have a duffel bag for everything thing else ( wires, games, viagra & the rest of the stuff needed for lans ).

I've got a GearGrip G2 for my case and a Ballistic Widescreen for my monitor (both bought from Kustom, linked above), and they are both fantastic. Being able to carry each in one hand easily is incredibly useful.

It can depend on your circumstances if it's worth it or not, but I have a very heavy case and a big monitor, and live on the 3rd floor, so to me it's very much worth it.

I wouldnt trust any strap completely, and my case is a heavy beast. I have seen lighter cases snap carry straps. I have a ballistics monitor cover for my 24" monitor though (on that page) bought from Kustom, mostly because the box was just too heeeuge. Even then, I use the shoulder strap but try when I can to keep a hand on the other carry handle just in case. I can carry everything else in my bag. So usually it's monitor on shoulder, tower carried in both hands, everything else in backpack.

Not sure if it's the GearGrip G2 or the older version I have but it's invaluable for P180/P182 owners. As for trusting it...it's good for 30kgs or so, surely noone's PC is that heavy? I guess mine must be 25kg or thereabouts but i'm not concerned about the harness breaking, it seems very sturdy.

I need to get a carry thing for my monitor too, if only to cover the screen itself for protection.

+1, I've got a geargrip G2 and they're fantastic. Bought it from Kustom at one of the lans - ask them to bring a selection the next time they're at the lan and see which suits best. They're really helpful.
