Anybody do them? Have dabbled in them in the past and been largely unimpressed but every now and then I get a strange itch to try some out. Recommendations?

Runescape olol.

You could always give Guildwars a try? You've gotta pay to get them game, but there's no subscription. Free realms is apparently okay, but a bit kiddy-ish...

There aren't many good Free MMOs that I've came across, to be honest... Runescape is okay, but it's a HUGE grindfest. And the community sucks.

If a game is free on the Internet, it's almost certain to have a shit community.

Actually bought the original GuildWars on a whim a while back but everyone I knew who had it finished it long ago. Seems more of a glorified dungeon crawler with chat rooms than an actual MMO.

And from what I've come across so far Saladin, you're right. Shitty and mostly not native English speakers. And 12 years old.

I think shaiya looked great but was a big grindfest as well.
Runes of Magic should be good but again I don't like killing the same monsters for ages.
And what I am waiting for at the moment is Black Prophecy. I have huge expectations on that.

Did anyone try LOTR online? I just read that it's free now. Don't know for how long this has been and if it's good but might try it soon.

I played a little when it first launched. It's basically WoW with a LoTR skin, and not as fun. Still worth a try though.
