The Between LAN Discussion Thread

In which we discuss plans to bring certain games/equipment to LAN events before the LAN thread has been posted.

To get the ball rolling, BackgroundSound (Andrew) and I are wanting to set up a Four Swords Adventure match at the next console LAN. We need 4 Advances (Phat, SP or possibly Micro) and 4 GBA ===> GC link cables. We need one more of each for a 4 player match, as between us we have 3 cables and consoles, plus the game. Is anyone else interested in getting in on the fun and can supply some hardware?

I used to have 3 of those damn cables, plus two advances and an SP. Thrown them all out years ago. :(

I have an original GBA and two SPs kicking about, but no cable. That's of limited usefulness.

Drifloon says he has a cable to provide and a crappy Advance (phat) so a good quality SP (because batteries are icky) would be good. ALso talking about giving Crystal Chronicles a go too, since it's a similar setup.

No idea whether either of my SPs count as good quality - they haven't been used in a long time. I play GBA games on my brick DS.

I flogged my SP and a four player link cable recently. You should be able to pick up the cable on eBay for a few quid.

Somehow this managed to seem even more stupid outside my head. Stupidly awesome of course. There's this crazy ass video of dudes doing this setup but with 4 GBA GCN add-onn things and 5 separate TVs. Bear that in mind before jettisoning us from the human race.

Also, there's some 4 player Pac-Man thingy (see here (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/reaction-guys-gaijin-4koma)) that uses this too. I know someone had a hacked Wii last time: any chance of getting a hold of that?

I have no idea what you just meant (maybe I'm stupid), but I think you may be referring to the Wii I bought last time. (It's softmodded)

I am happy to bring it along if anyone wants to use it for retro stuff/emulation/homebrew/whatever.

EDIT: Ohhh yes. Pac-man Vs. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pac-Man_Vs.) I guess I could buy that when we get the opportunity to do the GBA-Gamecube thingymabob.
