Commander Points

can anyone shed any light on how the commander actually earns commander points??? they seem to just sort of appear (in very small numbers), but ive no idea why. is there a set in stone system , i.e. 'one for every used suply, one for every UAV, one for every non-TK arty' or what?

I have no idea. It would be good to know, I've only had a game as commander when my team was getting humped (because we had no commander)

A similar question: do team leaders aquire points from their squad members, or is it entirely separate?

Yeah, i'd like to know that too. it's seems like it's not random though from the time I have played commander. At first I thought it was when a squad followed your order, or when you responded to a UAV,supply,art request, but is seems not. Research time.

Commander's score is equal to the average score of all other players on his team. x2 for the win.

cheers iain. but well thats both good and bad... on the one hand, i suck at commanding, but thats irrelevant because as long as i have a good team im sorted for the points. on the other hand, finding a team not 90% noob in bf2 publics is rough ,on clan servers with actual good players, the position of commander is always taken by someone of impossibly high rank it seems. my pokemon-esque quest to get all the basic bagdes could just come down to luck... esp. now that you cant jump and throw c4 =/

also, entirely unrelated, did the patch make the M95 good, or has it always been the AWP?

Well, if you are doing well as commander then your teams scroes will be better - just a constant UAV and Scan will increase their killing power.

The new patch changed the sniper rifles, but it didn't specify how. You can check their stats out at http://www.bf2s.com

Also - you know that some of the badges are impossible to get, right?

some of the medals and ribbons are impossible... like 1000s hours play, tens of 1000s of kills and teamwork points...never getting those. but the badges??? theyre the easy ones. like basic [kit] combat, basic resupply, basic heli etc... i need basic command and basic explosives(?), i.e. 40 commander points (before doubling) in a round or 13 c4/AT/claymore kills in a round. which is why i wondered about scoring command points.
