Ooh, they're cute when they're angry ;)
Dear Student
By now you will be more than aware of the AUT action short of a strike
and the effect that this is having on the marking and return of exams.
Time is ticking by and the longer this continues, the more of a serious
impact it has on ALL Glasgow Uni students. Not only will it affect
students due to graduate this year but it is increasingly obvious that
it will damage prospects in terms of graduation; progression through
years; and ultimately employment.
The SRC have contacted both sides and urged them to push forward for a
resolution but still we find ourselves in the middle of a deadlock.
Students are ultimately being disadvantaged through the inability of two
groups of people to negotiate and it cannot continue.
In light of all this, the SRC are calling ALL students to gather outside
the library AT 7.30 AM on this Thursday (25th May) to take part in
action to highlight your displeasure at the way in which negotiations
have come to a standstill and the plight of students caught in the
middle. (We can't tell you the exact nature of the proposed action as we
want to retain the element of surprise!)
This is an issue which affects every single one of you. Make no mistake
about it, this may well be the most serious issue which will affect you
in your time at this institution and if you are not willing to take a
stand now, when will you be?
Every student can spare half an hour. There are no excuses. As an added
incentive, bacon rolls and cups of tea will be provided free of charge
to those who make the effort to get there early! There is no vegetarian
option - apart from the tea - or a dry roll!
Yours Sincerely
