K, so as some of you know I have recently started my own business. It's not that serious just yet but I am evaluating how serious it could be and find that I really need to get my 'image' sorted. I am very technically minded and just a bit shit on the whole artsy creative side. What I'd like is suggestions for a logo and/or letterhead for my company "Yegadoyai Consultancy" If needs be the consultancy can be dropped but the Yegadoyai part is very important. Also, while my name has now become YegaDoyai. The Company name is Yegadoyai. It is a subtle but important difference.
look forward to what you can come up with.

So you're after a logo and general corporate image?
A little more information would be useful, such as the specific services your consultancy provides; the methodology; ethos; what's going to set you apart from other firms etc.

Nothing is going to set me apart there is no unique selling point. I will advise on Small Business objects and small database implementation and deployment specifically aimed at small scale offices to assist with administration where normally either the internal IT dept will take too long or it would cost too much to get a large IT firm to organise. Projects will typically be deployed in the MS Office environment without the need for thier own IT staff to support the new system. The logo need not project the 'image' of the company, it is more likely it will define the image of the company. The only real caveat with the logo is it must work on the website aswell as on the stationary.

On the grounds that just about every company that I've worked for has had a really silly name, it doesn't really matter what you call yourself or the logo that you use. As long as it's not blatently unprofessional or sexual, it's OK.
Saying that, what about a big Y with a small D in the cup:

Maybe that is a slightly-unique selling point then? Being efficient and good value for money? I was just trying to get an idea of key elements of your business to perhaps try to use to form a logo/symbol. My high-school art teacher did professional graphics design in addition to teaching and I spent quite a while talking to him about this kind of thing. Taught me how to use photoshop too, heh.
I'll try and have a go at this when I get some free time.

I can see that being ok for my name YegaDoyai, but the point behind the company name is that it is just Yegadoyai, only one name not two run into each other. I'm not comfortable having that same seperation for the company name.
But cheers.

Quick and dirty - 4 minute job! I'll do a proper one later.
Oh, you'll be pleased to know I used the exact same blue colour from your avatar - ho ho ho.

There is a mobile phone company that uses or used a similar style. Can't remember which one. Tis nice though.
Ross, yours has a little too much going on. It has a nice 'web' feel to it but would translate poorly to a letterhead in monochrome, too much of the detail would be lost if printed on a normal laser printer and virtualy nothing would comethrough on a fax or photocopy. Shame really.

Liking the design more ross, the faded edge will still be lost but the overall impact of the shape is not. I'll have a look at some ER modeling and see if I can fit in some kinda OOS spin on it.
thanks

I'll need a little more to work with Yega. More about the style and look you're trying to achieve. Clean I got that. Forward thinking? Innovative? Quirky?
Answers on a postcard please. :D
