What?
You might want to give us an idea of what the game is!

Unlike other RTS games, where units must be sized to fit reasonably on the screen, the zoom range in Supreme Commander will allow for diversity in unit size. Previews have confirmed that there are units so large that they merely crush smaller units as they travel and some will not even be able to fit on a single screen at the mimimum zoom range of Supreme Commander. The scale is large enough that Supreme Commander will feature sea and air battles as well as nuclear weapons at a realistic scale in addition to land battles.
I think this is what love feels like...

Now we're into the demo.
I mentioned earlier tonight at Niall's house the talk of the "Multi-Hour Submarine" that I'd heard about, met with disbelief I decided to see if it was available in the demo.
729 minutes, 10 seconds. That's the base build time if I don't have any engineers (or my commander) assisting the building.
That's a bit over 12 hours.
I WANT it, just to see what it does.

I think I have the full demo, over 1GB to download? =P
I don't know how far you could cut down the build time in one of the "proper" full-world maps if you owned a lot of it (for the resources to be able to pile lots of engineers into helping out), but I'm guessing no matter how powerful you are it would still take a hell of a long time.

The build times are for one engineer. Two engineers halves the build time, 3 quarters it. And so on. So you can knock them out pretty quickly.

I thought it was less of a difference than that, oh well.

Might be but if you have the resources it goes quite a bit quicker.

With the demo map you end up needing massive amounts of power because there's so few extraction points for mass, it's bloody irritating.
I want/need the full version now.

Level III engineers can build power gens and mass production things to artificially bump your resources up so long as you have the space to build them.

So let me get this straight Fyndir. You can waste lots of time with your GF by posting on the forums. But you can't grace the CSS tournament with your presence for a mere 3 hours?
Hypocrite!
