US 'world genius' touts 6.8GHz 'quantum-optical' CPU (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/09/07/atom_chip_miracle_machine/)

Skeptical, but it seems like someone has patented and produced (a prototype anyway) of a 6.8GHz processor with 2Tb of ram. Ouch, want to guess how many fps half-life would get on this :)

It's got a demo laptop (http://atomchip.com/_wsn/page4.html) running at 6.8ghz as well, but it only has an intel on-board graphics card. Morons. We wanted a 6800 mobile at least.

6fps or maybe none. Oh how we laugh when we look at the pictures of the the 'designers' in cleansuits using a white board. I'm convinced. To hell with X-Fi lets get 2TB of Optical ram!!

As far as I knew there was an attempt to creat a quantum chip by some Australians but they couldn't read it. They reckoned they were another 10yrs off a working prototype.
